Pastoral Staff

Senior Pastor
Dan Phelps
Pastor Phelps has the joy of serving as the head pastor of North Baptist Church, where his passion is preaching the Word, shepherding God’s people, and equipping the church for faithful ministry.

He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of five and soon developed a love for God’s Word. Sensing the Lord’s call to ministry, he pursued Biblical training in Greenville, SC, earning both his undergraduate and master’s degrees.
Before coming to North, he served in various staff and interim roles in Indianapolis, IN, as well as ministering as a youth pastor in Flushing, MI. Through these experiences, God shaped his heart for pastoral ministry and strengthened his commitment to leading with Biblical truth and grace.

Dan is blessed to serve alongside his wife, Reanne, and their two children, Quinn and Elise. A verse that continually encourages him is 1 Thessalonians 5:24: "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." This promise reminds him that ministry is not dependent on his own strength but on the faithfulness of God. His desire is to see North Baptist Church grow in grace, remain committed to the gospel, and impact the greater Flint community for Christ.

Outreach Pastor
Josh Michalek
Josh joined North Baptist Church as an associate pastor in 2022. He focuses on outreach, Christian education, and missions.
Josh made the most important decision of his life when he trusted Christ as Savior when he was only five years old. As he continued to grow in Christ, he felt the Lord calling him to serve God with his vocation. By the time he went to college, he was following God’s leading toward service in China, and he earned a B.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language at Bob Jones University.
Then Josh made the second most important decision in his life: marrying his wife Hannah! After finishing a Master of Divinity degree at Detroit Baptist Theology Seminary, Josh and Hannah moved to China. They served the Lord for six years there teaching English and sharing about Jesus. They retuned to the States in 2019, and God brought them to North over the next couple years.
One of his favorite Bible verses is Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
